Powering the UK’s AI Future from Chapelcross

A 55-hectare net-zero technology campus delivering large-scale AI-enabled data infrastructure alongside clean energy systems, built on one of the UK’s most established energy sites.

Data Centres

The campus will deliver a series of hyperscale, AI-enabled data centres designed to support advanced computing workloads.

Private Grid

Energy resilience underpins the project. The campus will integrate directly with local and regional green energy systems.

Community

Chapelcross has supported local communities for generations. This next phase ensures it continues to do so for decades to come.

Green Energy

The campus is designed to operate as a net-zero technology campus, powered by a diverse mix of wind, solar and biomass energy systems.

A National Asset Reimagined

For decades, Chapelcross played a central role in powering the UK.

Now it is being transformed into a next-generation technology campus, bringing together artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and clean energy in a single, strategically located site in Dumfries and Galloway.

The CX Technology Campus will deliver up to 161,920 sqm of data centre, supported by energy infrastructure, training facilities and industrial space. This will create a platform for long-term national growth.
